For the past few years, we have witnessed how some states around the world and particularly on the African continent have enforced emergency regimes not for the sake of protecting the state from potential threats but to guarantee the survival of the regime in place. This unique report  of its kind completed by the Global Emergency and Counterterrorism Institute  compiles together  in a single document the constitutional provisions on emergency regimes from 54 African states.
